Behind Monkey Wrench are two guys from Bristol who we got introduced to last month by Brighton based Well Rounded Records. Run and curated by record shop intern Donga since 2009, the label has proven to be an excellent platform for all kinds of inspiring club music with a great ear for new sounds and by than upcoming producer talents like Hackman, Julio Bashmore or C.R.S.T. With releasing their track ‘Above the Sheets’, Well Rounded announced that they will release an EP by Monkey Wrench very soon. Go grab the promising teaser full of steel drums right here and listen below.
As much as I often want to hate on Drake for appropriating relatively new music for his own songs or just for being too corny in many ways, he still delivers some great songs here and then. Although I am tempted to hate about that Sampha feature and basically annexing his sound on ‘The Motion’, the song is too good once you let the hate go and enjoy being corny to the fullest. Hit record obviously!
As part of their ongoing 20 years celebration this year, Cologne based techno institution Kompakt asked composer and chamber musician Gregor Schwellenbach to make selected classical reworks of their sheer endless catalogue. The result is a full length classical compilation without a bassdrum which might be challenging for “hands in the air” lovers but nonetheless enthralls. Get the result right here, stream the rework of Kaito’s classic Everlasting below and download it for free there.

Last summer, Deebs announced that he will be releasing an EP via the fantastic Pelican Fly label from Brussels and we got mad excited. Besides that, Deebs released a string of other promising productions/remixes and just gave away another stunning original production which will be part of his forthcoming debut EP Awry, dropping in two weeks via his bandcamp.
