HIGH FIVE #4

-

The king is back!
We heard some news a while ago stating that Siriusmo is busy working on the follow-up to his debut Mosaik from 2011. Finally, two weeks ago we got the official confirmation from his label home Monkeytown that June 14th will see the long awaited release of his second album Enthusiast. Along with the great news came the fantastic album track Itchy as a free download.

Renaissance Man from Helsinki also both broke some interesting news while sharing a track for free. As they welcomed their 10.000th follower on Soundcloud, they decided to give away a remix they did two years ago for P.Diddy and Guy Gerber’s BOBW approach with their 11:11 collaboration project. With the remix came the info from the architect duo that the scheduled album from 11:11 will not be released which makes their remix of Tourist Trap one of the rare occasions where you get a remix for an original track that nobody has heard so far.

The pairing of brothers Wolfgang and Reinhard Voigt not only works in leading their Cologne based label Kompakt together with musicians and friends Michael Mayer and Jürgen Paape, but also musically with their collaborative album Die Zauberhafte Welt der Anderen under the Voigt & Voigt alias. With Kompakt celebrating their 20th birthday for the whole 2013, they decided to give the repetitive and hypnotic album track Der Keil NRW away as a free download right HERE.

Although already two albums in – the fans funded Darkest Light in 2008 and its follow-up There is on Ninja Tune in 2011 – singer Jono Mccleery is still pretty much off the radar. On May 6th, he will release a new 7″, again on Ninja Tune, boosting two productions by Royce Wood Junior. As both songs received great feedback so far, we strongly hope that this release will bring him more well deserved attention. In exchange for one of your precious e-mail addresses, Jono will hook you up with the fantastic b-side Painted Blue right HERE.

Compliments 2 The Chef  were once kudos to New York based Action Bronson who worked as a chef for a decade before he broke his leg in the kitchen in 2011 and started rapping from there on. Since then, Bronson has seen the world touring, released a lot of material including a fantastic free mixtape with the legendary Alchemist on production and currently preps for his debut album which apparently has the likewise legendary Kool G Rap as its only feature guest. Just last night, his collaborative effort with singer Lauriana Mae as part of Hot 97′s Peter Rosenberg’s new compilation New York Renaissance was released. The whole compilation is dropping this Thursday.
